JULIE GILLEN
Julie praises the Lord for her parents and that she was able to grow up in a Christian home. When Julie was in preschool, her mom sat down with her and showed her from the Bible how she could be sure she was on her way to heaven. That night Julie prayed with her mom. However, when she was twelve, she began to doubt whether she had really understood all that her mom had shared. That summer, at a Christian camp, God showed Julie that she still needed Him as her Savior, and she was saved.
From that point on, living for God was one of Julie's goals, though she admits she doesn't always focus on it as she should. When she was in Jr. High, her youth pastor took some of her youth group to a revival meeting with Evangelist Tom Farrell. That night, his emphasis was on full-time Christian service. During the service, God was working in Julie's life. She surrendered to serve the Lord however He wanted her to serve, whether in full-time Christian service or not.
After graduating from a public high school, Julie was able to attend a Christian university and there met her husband Rob. After they were married, they were able to minister together in full-time Christian work for a little over a year. Julie writes, "What a blessing to serve right along with Rob! Now, Rob has a secular job, but the Lord has blessed us tremendously and allowed us to do so much for him through Kids 4 Truth. We are also now the proud parents of two children, Erika and Matt. It is a blessing to be able to use our talents and skills in the technology and financial fields for Christ!"
