JEREMY MCMORRIS
Jeremy was brought up in a thoroughly Christian environment. While very young, he made a profession of faith, but little fruit and many doubts heading into the teen years caused Jeremy to question whether he was right with God. The biggest obstacle that brought a false sense of assurance was that he was a good kid according to the outward traditions that surrounded him.
Jeremy recalls an important change that occurred around sixth grade, and that continues to bring settled assurance: He looked up instead of in. The questions that plagued his mind emphasized his ability but neglected Christ's. When that focus changed, when Christ was seen as the sufficient Savior, and Jeremy saw his faith as feeble, Jeremy believes he was born again. His assurance now rests in Christ's sufficient saving, His unchanging trustworthiness, and the loyal love of God.
Jeremy hails from Mio, Michigan. After graduating homeschool and sensing a desire for the ministry, Jeremy enrolled in Bob Jones University as a Pastoral Studies major, and continued his education with a Masters of Science degree in Counseling.
His years in college provided scores of opportunities for Jeremy to work with people in significantly spiritual ways. The Lord allowed him to minister at the Wilds Christian camp for seven summers, serving as operational staff, counselor, lead counselor, and program staff. He also served as a Residence Hall counselor and supervisor at Bob Jones University. Followed by three years as Assistant to the President at BJU.
Jeremy currently serves as the youth pastor at Hampton Park Baptist Church in Greenville, SC. He and his wife Angie have two children – Jay (who is currently in the 3-year-old Kids 4 Truth program) and Christiana who is learning to walk and getting her teeth.
