Monty Kaufman spent his happy childhood growing up in Arkansas and Missouri. At the age of six his mother led him to repent of his sins before God and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as his only Savior. "I continue to stand amazed at God's wonderful gift of eternal life given to me! The fact that Christ died to bring me God (1 Pt. 3:18) is something I never want to get over!"
In 7th grade, Monty made an important decision to become more serious about living his life for God. God brought about steady spiritual growth in Monty's life during his junior high and high school years, and upon graduation from high school, he enrolled at Northland Baptist Bible College in Dunbar, WI. By his sophomore year, Monty knew he wanted to minister to young people in some way. To Monty, showing them the glorious gospel and helping them know and love our great God seemed like the best "job" in the world!
During his college years, Monty met his lovely wife-to-be, Linda, and they were married in December of 1990. After graduation Monty and Linda continued on staff at Northland six more years. Both of their sons were born while the Kaufmans were at Northland, Cameron is 1994 and Clayton in 1997.
God used a missions conference, a junior church extension ministry, a Wednesday night children's program, and a faculty and staff teen ministry to grow Monty's burden for young people of all ages. To God's glory, for the past 20 years, Monty and Linda have had the privilege of working is some capacity in full-time youth ministry. Whether it was a college ministry, a camp ministry, or a local church ministry, God has enabled them to do "...the desires of their heart." Today, in addition to serving Kids4Truth, Monty is the Children's Pastor at Grace Baptist Church in Wilmington, NC where he and his wife continue to challenge kids to "Live the Gospel" (Phil. 1:27) by following the Great Commandments and fulfilling the Great Commission!
