SARAH ROBERTS
Sarah (Zimmerman) Roberts was privileged to spend the first 8 years of her life in Mali, West Africa where her parents served as missionaries for 12 years. She and her two older brothers were taught the truths of God’s Word from the time they were born, and Sarah accepted the Lord as her Savior at the age of 4. Due to political unrest and health problems, Sarah’s family had to leave the field, and she spent the remaining years of elementary through high school in both Georgia and South Carolina. God used godly examples of family and church leaders as well as two Christian camps to burden Sarah’s heart for full time ministry. She attended Northland Baptist Bible College and completed church ministries major. Her summers were spent working at Northland Camp & Conference Center.
Sarah had the opportunity throughout her college years to help minister at Berean Baptist Church in Tomahawk, Wisconsin. She along with a few other students worked with the children, teens, and music program. While acting as the Junior Church leader, she saw the vast need for more Christ centered and focused curriculum which was simply not available at the time, and she became deeply burdened for the lack of understanding young people have of basic, biblical truths. She created her own curriculum while ministering there, but prayed that the Lord would allow someone to produce a professionally printed curriculum that would effectively teach children about Him.
Immediately upon graduation, she began working full time in the Northland Camp Office as the program secretary. While she enjoyed her position and learned much through her time at Northland, Sarah desired to be in a ministry that had a more direct role in the local church. During her third summer on full time staff, Sarah met Bob Roberts who had come up to be the Junior Camp Speaker for two weeks. While the Bob and Sarah had known vaguely of each other, God chose this specific timing for them to get to know one another personally. There was an almost immediate connection between the two, and it became obvious very quickly that God had ordained this relationship. Sarah was especially drawn to Bob’s desire to creatively and memorably teach truth to boys and girls and the ministry God had blessed him with. The two began to pursue a relationship, and were married April 14, 2007.
Sarah now enjoys assisting Bob as he directs Kids 4 Truth. Her responsibilities include order fulfillment, grant writing, and help with phones and graphics and layout work; as well as traveling with Bob on occasion. She has also been excited to be a part of the Kids 4 Truth program at Tri-City Baptist Church, as well as to introduce the ministry of Kids 4 Truth to her former church Berean Baptist where they have now implemented the program.
