God Gave the Bible So People Could Believe in Christ
Adventure 1: God's Word -- The Bible
Mission: 7

Question Answer
Why do we need the Bible?

We need the Bible to show us Who God is and how we can be right with Him through Jesus Christ. 2 Timothy 3:15 – And that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

The Difference This Truth Makes
The Apostle John said that his writings were written for one main reason: John 20:31 – But these are written that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

The main theme of all the Bible is Jesus Christ. The Bible is divided into two sections, one on either side of His appearing on Earth – the Old Testament and the New Testament.

The word “testament” means “promise.” The Old Testament is God’s promise that He would send One to save mankind from their sins. The New Testament shows how Jesus Christ fulfills that promise. The Old Testament looks ahead to the coming of Christ. The New Testament is written about the actual coming of Christ and the events that happened after Christ came to Earth. If we did not believe that God gave us the Bible to lead us to believe in Christ – we would miss His greatest reason for giving us the Bible!
