God Wants Us To Love His Word
Adventure 1: God's Word -- The Bible
How does God want us to feel about the Bible?
God wants us to love and believe the Bible enough to trust and obey it. Psalm 119:97 – Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day.
This Truth Makes
Augustine was a great Christian teacher who said that the Scriptures are our letters from home. Not only are the writings of the Bible addressed to you, but they are also from the most important Being Who ever was or ever will be. Have you ever received an important letter from someone who loved you very much? Did you read it more than once? We should not approach the Bible like another school book. He has given us His Word so that we might know Him, and as we know Him more and more, He changes us to be more like Christ. We should read God’s Word as a personal letter. We should respond wholeheartedly to the message. We should pray to God genuinely as we read the Bible. We should place ourselves under the authority of God’s Word.
Q. What is God’s commandment to all people about the Bible?
A. All men are commanded and exhorted to read, hear, and understand the Scriptures. (John 5:39; Luke 16:29; Acts 8:28-30; 17:11)
