God Is an Invisible Spirit
Adventure 2: The Greatness of God
Mission: 5

Question Answer
Does God have a body like human beings do?

No. God is a Spirit, invisible to our human eyes. John 4:24 – "God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

The Difference This Truth Makes
Many people want to know what God is made out of. But since God created all space, all time, and all matter (living creatures,
plants, minerals, waters, etc.) – it is wrong to think of Him as being made out of anything that we might know about. Everything
we can observe with our five senses has been created by God. God is different from anything He created. And we can see most of what He created.

But God also wants us to believe in that which we cannot see with our eyes. He wants us to have faith in Him, and He is invisible.

Hebrews 11:1 – Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

If God were not invisible, then we would not need faith to believe in Him. If we did not need faith, then we would not need God. If we did not need God, then we would start worshipping ourselves as our own god.

Hebrews 11:6 – But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently
seek Him.

Just because you cannot see something does not mean it is not real. In fact, God’s invisible reality (realness) is so real that He caused everything else that you know and see to become real (Colossians 1:16).
