God Never Acts Wrongly Toward Anyone or Anything
Adventure 3: The Goodness of God
Mission: 4

Question Answer
Does God ever sin or do anything in a wrong or sinful way?

God is always righteous. All God does is right and rightly done, for His glory and His people's good. Psalm 145:17 – The LORD is righteous in all His ways, gracious in all His works.

The Difference This Truth Makes
If we believed that God could or does ever act in a wrong way, then we would live our lives only afraid of Him – and we certainly would not want to be close to a God Who might do us wrong!

God has never done wrong, though; and He has never made a mistake. Genesis 18:25b – “Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?”

God has complete power, authority, and control of everything. He does whatever He wants – but, thankfully, whatever God wants or does is right.

God is the ultimate Standard of what is right. Some people look to their own sense of justice and righteousness in order to determine what is absolutely right. But if they look inwardly at themselves, they cannot see a true picture, because they are corrupt. Sometimes, people think so wrongly about God that they try to blame Him for wrongdoing. Some might even blame God for their own sins.

Adam tried to blame God for his sin. Genesis 3:12 – Then the man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.” Adam was accusing God of making a mistake.

Adam was accusing God of making a mistake. It is never wise to accuse God of doing anything wrong – whether we say this out loud, in our hearts, or by the way we live our lives. It is wrong, sinful thinking to believe that God has done anyone or anything wrong, ever! God has never done wrong, and He never will do wrong. He is completely righteous.

Sometimes God sends His children through painful trials or circumstances. During these hard times, our flesh would have us believe that God “did us wrong.” But good things are not always enjoyable and fun. Sometimes, we must endure even tragic things; but we can be confident that God is in control, and that He has not acted wrongly. Everything God does is for His glory and for our ultimate good.

Deuteronomy 32:4
He is the Rock, His work is perfect; for all His ways are justice, a God of truth and without injustice; righteous and upright is He.
