God Created All Things Good
Adventure 5: God's Creation
Was there anything evil or bad about God's original Creation?
No. Creation now is all stained by sin, but God's original Creation was all very good. Genesis 1:31 – Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
This Truth Makes
God made all things good. Nothing that was made by God is fundamentally evil in its created condition, since all things came from God, Who is perfectly good. Nothing bad can come from perfect goodness. Everything that exists has value because God made it all, and He loves it all.
However, good things can be created with the potential for bad or evil.
Both man and the Devil, when first created, were completely good. God created the Devil with a free will (and a free will must be a good thing – see the “Memorize It!” section). The Devil used his free will to sin against God. God created humans with free will, too. And Adam and Eve chose to disobey God, as well.
Sin has entered into the world because of human choices. We cannot blame anyone for our sin. God created all things good. Man’s choice to sin was precisely that – a choice. We should not point fingers at any part of Creation to blame for our sin (like blaming other people, as Adam tried to do in Genesis 3:12). God originally created all things good. Sin is the opposite of good. Sin is what happens when a good thing is twisted to go against God. Sin is a bad twisting of good gifts.
