Jesus Christ Is the Way, the Truth, and the Life
Adventure 8: Jesus Christ
Mission: 1

Question Answer
Who is Jesus Christ?

Jesus Christ is the only Son of God and the only Savior of sinners. To know Him by grace through faith is to know God the Father. John 14:6 – Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me"

The Difference This Truth Makes
Why should Jesus be the main focal point as we read and think about the Bible? He should be the main focal point because He clearly reveals (shows) God to us better than anyone or anything else ever could. To gain an understanding of God, we can look at the Law, or we can look to One Who is even better – the One Who obeyed the Law perfectly. We can look at prophecy, or we can look at the One Who perfectly fulfills prophecy. The primary theme of all of Scripture is Christ – the King, the Redeemer, the Only Hope.

Jesus Christ perfectly reveals to us Who God is and what God is like. John 1:18 – No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

Colossians 1:15 – He [Jesus] is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

The two testaments of Scripture are divided based on Christ’s coming to Earth. Even our history books and calendars keep time according to “B.C.” (before Christ) and “A.D.” (anno Domini), based on Christ’s time here on Earth.

Christ is the Truth. He declares to us Who God is. Christ is the Way. He is the bridge between God and man. Christ is the Life. Knowing Christ brings eternal life.
