Jesus Christ Is Also Fully Man
Adventure 8: Jesus Christ
Mission: 4

Question Answer
Is Jesus Christ truly human?

Jesus Christ is the only perfect Man. He became truly human in every way, except that He never sinned. Galatians 4:4-5 – But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.

The Difference This Truth Makes
Jesus Christ is both 100% God and 100% human. Jesus is as much God as He would be if He were not human at all, and as much human as if He were not God at all.

Jesus Christ had to become human in order to take our place. Man was the one who sinned, so the penalty for sin had to be borne by a man. As a man, Jesus was our representative; and He obeyed for us where Adam failed for us.

Romans 5:19 – For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.

Jesus was born of a virgin. (See Matthew 1:18; Luke 1:34-35.) This miracle-birth allowed Him to be a man and yet not inherit the sinful nature from Adam. Because Christ truly became a man, He is not removed from our trials nor the pains of this life. He knows them all. He is able to meet our needs, because He is God, and yet He also is human; so He knows exactly what we are going through.

Hebrews 2:18 – For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.
