God Is in Complete Control of Everything That Happens
Adventure 11: God's Work -- Past and Present
Mission: 3

Question Answer
Is the LORD always in control of all things?

Yes. The LORD is always in control of all things. Psalm 103:19 – The LORD has established His throne in heaven, And His kingdom rules over all.

The Difference This Truth Makes
God is Sovereign. “Sovereign” means He has both the absolute right and the unstoppable ability to do whatever He wants with what is His. Since everything belongs to God, God has complete control over all things.

There are two sides of God’s Providence: sustaining and controlling.

Sustaining is keeping things going, upholding things.

Controlling is causing things to work for a specific plan or purpose.

God works in ways far beyond our understanding to bring about His good plans. He works in things, through things, and with things. God even factors in the things that totally rebel against His plan and purposes. We cannot understand how, but He always causes His plan to come to pass. Psalm 66:7 – He rules by His power forever; His eyes observe the nations; do not let the rebellious exalt themselves.Selah.

Someone might think proud thoughts like, “God can’t stop me from doing this or that.” But the truth is, He can. And no matter
what you do, God’s plans stand sure. You cannot mess up God’s plans! But you can align yourself with them so that your life is useful and joyful.
