God Wants Me To Watch and Wait
Adventure 12: God's Plan for the Future
How should your heart respond to learning these biblical truths about the future?
My heart should desire to be with God as soon as possible, but also to live a holy, joyful life before Him during the time He wants me here. I should wait for Jesus, hope in Him, and redeem each day for His glory until He comes. 1 Thessalonians 5:6 – Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.
This Truth Makes
Revelation 22:20-21 – He [Christ] who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
This passage from Revelation is the end of all Bible teaching – that Christ is coming and we are to wait for Him and be ready. And that is how we finish the Kids 4 Truth Curriculum. If you have gone through all twelve Adventures to get to this point –
congratulations! But more importantly, praise the Lord!
We began with God, we continued along with God, and now we end with God – all the way through, it was all about God! And the truth that Christ is coming again further confirms the fact that all the world, all of history, every person who has ever lived or ever will live exists for God’s plans and purposes. It’s all about God!
By the grace of God, there is another world coming, and you can enjoy it! But we are not there yet, and so we strive to know Christ more now. We long to be with Jesus personally, but we must draw close to Him through faith and obedience. There is something that cries out in our hearts to be with Him, and yet He has chosen us to glorify Himself through living holy and Christlike lives in this sin-cursed world.
