God Is Worthy of All Our Honor and Respect
Case 2: The Greatness of God
Clue: 10

Question Answer
How should you respond to God as you learn more about His greatness?

Learning about God's greatness should encourage me to honor and humbly trust in Him. Exodus 15:11 – Who is like You, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

The Difference This Truth Makes
What we can learn from all these “greatness attributes” of God is that He is unique, and He is worthy of love and worship we could give to Him. Exodus 15:11 is actually part of a song that Moses sang to the Lord shortly after God delivered the Israelites from Egypt. God wants the love and worship of His people, because He is the only One Who deserves it. There are no other gods before Him.

God is greatly glorified through His own actions, but He is also glorified in the reactions of His people to His actions. When God’s people praise Him in humility and dependence, God is pleased and glorified: They are putting Him in the proper place in their hearts through praise. God is to be respected and trusted because of His greatness. He can do anything He wants, and we should acknowledge Him and submit our lives to Him. He is to be revered (seriously honored), because He is so great, and we are so small!
