There Are Three Persons Who Are God
Case 4: Trinity
Who are the three Persons of the Trinity?
The three eternal Persons of the Trinity are the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19 – "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
This Truth Makes
From His position as Head over everything, Christ commanded the Great Commission. The Great Commission can be seen as Christ’s orders for all believers. There are no “if’s” about this command; God wants us to fulfill it!
The Trinity is such an important teaching that God commands believers to baptize in the names of all three Members of the Trinity. All three Members are distinct (different) from one another, and yet all Three play equally important parts in saving someone from sin.
The Father planned salvation.
The Son purchased salvation.
The Holy Spirit applies salvation.
A twentieth-century preacher named Loraine Boettner said this about the Trinity: “The fact of the matter is that God is the way back to Himself, and that all of the hopes of our fallen race are centered in the truth of the Trinity.” If even one member of the Trinity did not exist, we could never be saved from our sins.
