The Bible Shows Us that the Father Is God
Case 4: Trinity
Does the Bible teach that the Father is God?
Yes. The Bible teaches that the Father is God. Philippians 1:2 – Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
This Truth Makes
Paul is under house arrest in Rome when he writes his letter to the Philippians. Even in his captivity, Paul was teaching truth and hoping and praying for God’s blessing upon his friends.
Paul mentions grace and peace in the introduction to his letters. You have already learned that “grace” is God’s favor to undeserving people. “Peace” in these greetings refers to the inner confidence and rest these readers had because they were children
of God. Our peace is grounded upon the work that Jesus has done on the Cross. Ephesians 2:13-14 – But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation.
But it was God the Father Who planned it all! Perhaps this is why Paul specifically mentions the Father and the Son in many of his letters. He wants us to remember that the Father planned our peace, but the Son purchased it.
