God Made the World for Himself
Case 5: God's Creation
Clue: 4

Question Answer
Why did God create the world and everything in it?

God created everything for His own pleasure and glory. Revelation 4:11 – You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created.

The Difference This Truth Makes
This verse (Revelation 4:11) answers the question of why God created everything. It is a simple answer: God created everything
for His glory and pleasure. Literally, this means that God created everything because He wanted to! It was God’s will to create, and so He did. The ultimate power in the universe is the power of sovereign will. God is worthy of our praise for many reasons, but this verse points out He is glorious because He alone created all things. God hates false gods because He is the only One worthy of worship. In Jeremiah 10:11-13, God compares Himself to other gods by saying that they are “the gods that have not made the heavens and the earth.” Only the God Who truly made the heavens and Earth deserves the worship and service of mankind.
