God Designed Mankind To Bring Him Glory
Case 6: God's View of You
Why are human beings the pinnacle, the most glorious part, of all God's Creation?
Of all God's Creation, human beings are made to be most like God and to bring Him more of the glory He deserves. Psalm 86:9-10 – All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O Lord, and shall glorify Your name. For You are great, and do wondrous things; You alone are God.
This Truth Makes
Since we were made in God’s image, and and since we were the only creatures made that way, it makes sense that we must have been created especially for God’s glory.
The word “glory” in the New Testament is the Greek word doxa, which originally meant “having an opinion,” but eventually
came to mean “having a high opinion of some great person” like a king. To give someone glory was to give him the honor that his reputation demanded.
God did not need to create man, yet He did create us for His own glory. Mankind, more than any other part of God’s Creation, brings God glory. Why is that? Because God’s character can be more obviously reflected in mankind than in anything else. God’s glory is seen most clearly through people.
