Only God Can Redeem Us from the Penalty of Sin
Case 6: God's View of You
Clue: 10

Question Answer
How has Adam's sin affected you?

I am a sinner by birth and a sinner by choice. Unless God redeems me, I can never be good or right with Him. Romans 7:18a – For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells.

The Difference This Truth Makes
God is good and loving. He has proven this by giving of Himself in order to redeem lost sinners.

In many stories in the Bible, we find people who were held captive under a slave owner. These people were rightfully the property of the slave owner. In order to be set free, they needed to be “redeemed.God is good and loving. He has proven this by giving of Himself in order to redeem lost sinners.

But not just any person could be the redeemer. In many situations, the redeemer had to be a close relative of the one held captive. The redeemer would also have to be able and willing to pay the high price for freedom from bondage.

Do you know that we were held captive by sin? Do you know who the Redeemer is? Has Christ rescued you with a great purchase? Jesus Christ is the only One able of fulfill all the requirements of redemption! Praise the Lord! He willingly paid the great price of His life so that we could go free. The word “redemption” means “rescued by a purchase.” The only way for these prisoners to be set free was for a redeemer to come and purchase them out of their captivity.
