God Does Not Change
Construction Zone 2: The Greatness of God
Does the LORD ever give up, get tired, or change in any way?
No. The Lord is unchanging, great forever. Malachi 3:6a – "For I am the LORD, I do not change."
This Truth Makes
If we thought that God might change His mind like we do, our trust in Him would be very small. How could we trust someone who might change his mind about the way he felt about us?
Some people say that you need to “believe in yourself” or “trust yourself.” But think about how often you change your mind. Can you remember
a time when you changed your mind? Are you glad that God did not have to decide this morning whether or not He loves you? God never changes!
Since God does not change, some people think He must not have much personality. They think that He must be like a rock that never moves, never feels, and never acts –
because to do so would mean to change. But God is not like that. Here are some specific ways God does not change:
- God’s Promises do not change. (Numbers 23:19)
- God’s Purposes do not change. (Isaiah 46:10)
- God’s Person (His character) does not change. (Hebrews 13:8)
