God Shows His Glory through the Church
Construction Zone 11: God's Work - Past and Present
Stage: 6

Question Answer
What is the main way God has been showing His grace and glory during New Testament times and up until now?

During New Testament times and up until now, God has been showing His grace and glory by taking special care of His redeemed people, the Church. 1 Peter 2:9b – That you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

The Difference This Truth Makes
The Israelites did not obey God perfectly. The Bible says they turned away from Him, disobeyed Him, and made Him angry. God kept being gracious to them (and still is to this day). But they failed to meet their responsibility before God. Today, God has chosen a new group of people to be His people. But these people are not a nation or a race. God is calling out people from every tribe and every nation to be a part of the Church.

In the New Testament, the word for “church” means a group of people who are “called out” or “belonging to the Lord.” The Church is not a building. The Church is God’s group of people that He has called out of the world, and they belong to the Lord. Believers are the adopted family of God, the body of Christ, and the temple of the Holy Spirit. The Church is made up of all true believers. God glorifies Himself by being kind to them and by changing them to be more like Jesus Christ.
