Spring 2009 Audio Story Contest!

Mr. Big Bob wants to read your story! Out loud!

Have you got a story on your mind? Would you like to share it with the Kids 4 Truth staff and with kids all over the world? Win this contest, and everyone will hear your winning story online, read by the founder and director of Kids 4 Truth, Mr. Big Bob himself!

Contest entry guidelines

Am I really “a Kids 4 Truth kid”? We want to hear stories from Kids 4 Truth kids. To submit a contest entry, you do not need to be involved in an official Kids 4 Truth club, but you DO need to be a kid: Age 12 or younger. As long as you are a visitor of Kids 4 Truth’s website, and as long as you are no older than 12, you are welcome to enter this contest!

What should I write about? The great Christian author C.S. Lewis said that he wrote the stories he had always wanted to read. What kinds of things do you like to read? What kinds of things do you think other kids would like to read? This is for Kids 4 Truth, so we want to make sure that your story does not go against God and God’s truth. It does not have to be about God, but it should not be against God. We are not picky about the topic you choose, so write about what you are most excited about! Write about what you can write about well.

When is my story due? The Spring audio story contest will be open for entries from March 21 through May 21. That’s two whole months of springtime for you to use your imagination for story-writing!

How do I turn my story in to Kids 4 Truth? It’s pretty easy to turn your story in, and it’s okay to ask a grown-up for help. Here are ways you can send Kids 4 Truth your story:

  1. You can write it down on paper and send it to us at this address
    Kids 4 Truth International
    18921G E. Valley View Pkwy #234
    Independence, MO 64055
  2. Ask someone to help you type your story into a computer document (in a computer program like Microsoft Word or TextEdit). Then you can print it off and mail it to the above address, OR you could email it to us by sending it as an attachment to a normal email. The email should be addressed to a-story@kids4truth.com.
  3. If you really like technical stuff, you can read your story out loud into your computer microphone and send the recording to a-story@kids4truth.com. (If you do this, though, we would still like for you to send us the written story, also, either in email or by mail.)

What happens to my story once I submit it to Kids 4 Truth? The stories will be “judged” by Kids 4 Truth staff members and by two children’s authors. There may be a lot of kids sending their stories in, so the competition could be tough! But it can’t hurt to try…and it could be fun!

Would you like to hear Mr. Big Bob read your story on the worldwide web? Enter the Spring 2009 K4T Audio Story Contest before May 21st, and your story might just win!
